Jammu & Kashmir News : Two Habitual Drug Peddlers Detained Under PIT-NDPS Act in Anantnag

Anantnag, August 4 : Continuing its intensified drive against drug trafficking, Anantnag Police on Tuesday booked two habitual drug peddlers under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT-NDPS) Act. The accused have been identified as Javid Ahmed Dar, son of Mohammad Yousaf Dar, a resident of Kheribal Mattan, and Suhail Ahmed Bhat, son of Ghulam Qadir Bhat, a resident of Krangsoo Mattan.

Police said both accused were involved in multiple NDPS cases and were placed under preventive detention after PIT-NDPS detention warrants were executed against them. The action forms part of Anantnag Police’s ongoing campaign to dismantle narcotics networks by identifying and detaining repeat drug offenders who pose a serious threat to society, particularly the youth. Police reiterated its commitment to intensifying the anti-drug drive and taking strict legal action against all those involved in the narcotics trade.
