Jammu & Kashmir News ANTF Crime Branch J&K Arrests Interstate Narco Smuggler with 10 Kg Ganja in Jammu

Jammu, July 4 : The Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), Crime Branch J&K, achieved a major success in its ongoing drive against drug trafficking by arresting an interstate narco smuggler and recovering 10 kilograms of ganja-like narcotic substance from his possession. The accused has been identified as Asharam Banjare, son of Rajigarh, a resident of Chhattisgarh. He was apprehended on July 2, 2026, during a special operation conducted by the ANTF team near JDA Park, Railway Station Jammu Tawi.

The operation was led by Inspector Nayat Ali. During the search, approximately 10 kilograms of ganja-like substance was recovered from the possession of the accused. In this regard, FIR No. 05/2026 under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station ANTF, Jammu. Further investigation is underway to unearth the backward and forward linkages of the narcotics network and identify other persons involved in the smuggling racket.
