Jammu & Kashmir News : Pulwama Police Arrest Drug Peddler; Heroin-Like Substance, ₹14,300 Cash Recovered, FIR Registered

Pulwama, September 02 : Continuing its sustained crackdown against drug trafficking, Pulwama Police apprehended a suspected drug peddler during naka checking at Newa Chowk and recovered approximately 12.5 grams of heroin-like substance along with ₹14,300 in cash. Official said a police party from Police Post Newa intercepted a cab bearing registration number PB01B3431 during checking. The suspected contraband was recovered from the dashboard of the vehicle. The accused has been identified as Mohd. Sahil, son of Abdul Majeed Kumar, resident of Chak Wali Sahab, Rawalpora, Sanat Nagar, Srinagar. Police said the recovered substance, cash, and the vehicle allegedly used in the commission of the offence were seized as per the prescribed procedure.

In this connection, FIR No. 152/2026 under Sections 8/21-27A of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Pulwama, and further investigation has been initiated to ascertain the source of the contraband and establish its further linkages. Pulwama Police reiterated its commitment to a zero-tolerance approach towards drug trafficking, stating that sustained action will continue against individuals involved in the illegal narcotics trade.
