Jammu & Kashmir News Rakesh Magotra Appointed as J&K Bank Chief Compliance Officer.

Srinagar July 06 : J&K Bank has appointed Rakesh Magotra as its new Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) and Group Compliance Officer (GCO) for a three-year term. The appointment was approved by the Bank’s Board of Directors and disclosed through a regulatory filing. A seasoned banking professional, Magotra succeeds Peer Masood Ahmad in the role. His appointment reflects the Bank’s continued focus on strengthening regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and institutional oversight.
Before taking over as CCO, Magotra served as General Manager and Head of the Retail Banking Division, overseeing Retail Assets, Agriculture, MSME, Government Sponsored Schemes, and Liability Management. Since joining the Bank as a Probationary Officer in 1996, he has held several key leadership positions, including Zonal Head, Advisor to the Chairman, Head of Financial Inclusion, and Head of Supervision & Control.
An alumnus of National Institute of Technology Jaipur and Indian Institute of Management Amritsar, where he received the Director’s Medal, Magotra is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Economics at Indian Institute of Management Jammu. With extensive experience in retail banking, financial inclusion, MSME financing, startup finance, and institutional partnerships, Magotra is expected to play a key role in further strengthening the Bank’s compliance framework and governance standards.
