Pulwama, August 13 : A full-dress rehearsal for the Independence Day 2026 celebrations was held today at the District Police Lines (DPL), Pulwama, as part of the district administration\u2019s preparations for the smooth and befitting observance of the 80th Independence Day on August 15.The rehearsal was attended by senior officers of the district administration, police and security forces, besides contingents from various security agencies and local educational institutions.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Pulwama, Dr. S.M. Ashraf, hoisted the National Flag and took the salute during the impressive march past. The participating contingents displayed remarkable discipline, coordination and marching skills, reflecting the spirit of patriotism, unity and national pride.<\/p>\n

The ceremonial proceedings were followed by a vibrant cultural programme presented by local artists and school students. The colourful performances showcased the rich cultural heritage, traditions and artistic talent of the region, adding a festive and patriotic fervour to the rehearsal.Meanwhile, full-dress rehearsal functions were also conducted at District Police Lines (DPL), Awantipora, and Sports Stadium Bajwani, Tral. The rehearsals featured contingents of police, security forces and students, along with cultural performances and other ceremonial activities.<\/p>\n

The rehearsals provided an opportunity to review and finalise arrangements, including parade coordination, ceremonial proceedings, cultural programmes and other logistical requirements, ensuring that all necessary preparations are in place for the smooth, orderly and successful conduct of Independence Day celebrations across Pulwama district on August 15, 2026.The district administration reiterated its commitment to celebrating Independence Day with due solemnity, patriotic spirit and active participation of all sections of society.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
