Srinagar<\/strong>, August 7: The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday claimed that its leader Iltija Mufti is undergoing treatment at a Hospital in Srinagar after she was allegedly assaulted by police personnel during a protest demanding the restoration of Article 370. \u00a0PDP spokesperson said Iltija Mufti sustained injuries during the confrontation with police while participating in the party’s protest and is presently receiving medical care at the hospital. The development comes a day after Srinagar Police registered FIR No. 63\/2026 at Police Station Kothibagh in connection with the protest. Police have alleged that during the scuffle, Iltija Mufti assaulted a police officer and bit his forearm, causing injuries. She has since been summoned to join the investigation.<\/p>\n

The PDP has contested the police version, alleging that excessive force was used against its workers during the protest and maintaining that Iltija Mufti was among those injured in the police action.
