Rajouri, July 20 : As flash floods triggered by incessant overnight rainfall wreaked havoc across Rajouri district, local residents have appealed to the administration to immediately deploy heavy machinery to retrieve hundreds of vehicles reportedly swept away by the floodwaters. Speaking to reporters, a local resident said the scale of destruction was unprecedented, claiming that between 300 and 400 vehicles parked in the area were washed away within hours.<\/p>\n

“At least 300 to 400 vehicles were parked here before the flood struck, and all of them were washed away overnight. We earnestly request the administration to send JCBs or cranes to retrieve at least the vehicles that are here. We sincerely urge the administration to assist people during this time of distress. The flood situation remains critical, and the rain has not stopped,” the resident said.<\/p>\n

The devastating floods have caused extensive damage to vehicles, houses, roads and other public infrastructure in several parts of the district. Rescue and relief operations are continuing as authorities assess the full extent of the losses.<\/p>\n

With rainfall continuing across the region, residents have expressed fears of further damage and urged the administration to expedite restoration and recovery efforts.
