Cherhar: A Forgotten Village Still Waiting for Basic Necessities Cherhar, a remote village in Sopore, continues to live in conditions that reflect decades of neglect and administrative apathy. While the world advances with modern infrastructure and technology, the residents of Cherhar are still struggling for the most basic necessities of life. The village lacks access to clean and safe drinking water, forcing residents to depend on unsafe water sources that pose serious health risks. The electricity infrastructure is in a deplorable condition, with wooden twigs and makeshift poles being used instead of proper electric poles. Despite poor electricity services, many households are burdened with exorbitant electricity charges, with some families reportedly paying a flat rate of \u20b91500 for merely three electric lamps.<\/p>\n

\nAdding to the hardships, mobile network connectivity remains extremely poor, leaving residents disconnected from communication services, emergency assistance, educational opportunities, and digital facilities. The absence of a ration store further compounds the suffering of the people, who are forced to travel long distances to obtain essential food supplies and other basic commodities. The lack of developmental initiatives has left the people of Cherhar feeling isolated and forgotten. The village urgently requires proper drinking water facilities, reliable electricity infrastructure, fair electricity billing, improved mobile connectivity, a local ration depot, better roads, healthcare services, and educational facilities.<\/p>\n
